Do I Need to Get Implants for Every Missing Tooth?

NO! We Only Place Implants Where Truly Necessary!

If you were to place an implant in every space where a tooth is missing, the treatment cost would become a heavy financial burden.

Even in cases where most teeth are missing and full-mouth implants might seem necessary, we only place implants in the essential positions. Then, by connecting them with prosthetics such as bridges, it is possible to achieve stable and economical treatment with chewing ability similar to natural teeth.

Of course, if even a single natural tooth remains, we always prioritize preserving it through conservative treatment before considering implants.

When teeth are loose and the gums are already inflamed, it’s better to remove them and place implants quickly. However, if the teeth are mobile but no significant inflammation is present, sometimes they can still be preserved and maintained for a longer time.

Treatment Option 1.

Conventional Full-Mouth Implants

Conventional full-mouth implants may involve higher initial costs, but they provide long-term use and deliver the most natural chewing function, closely resembling real teeth.
For this reason, a “maximum” or “full arch” implant placement is often the best choice.

However, a normal adult typically has 14 teeth on the upper jaw and 14 on the lower jaw, totaling 28 teeth.

If implants were placed for every missing tooth, the treatment would become excessively burdensome. That’s why we always consider the patient’s oral condition and various individual factors to find a reasonable and practical solution.

We recommend an in-depth consultation at our clinic to determine the most suitable treatment option for you.

Treatment Option 2.

Implant-Supported Denture

This method involves placing 4 implants in the upper jaw and 2–4 implants in the lower jaw, then attaching a removable denture that snaps securely into place.

Implant-supported dentures solve the common inconveniences of traditional dentures—such as looseness, slipping during meals, and discomfort—while significantly reducing the cost burden compared to conventional full-mouth implants.

It is an economical treatment option that provides both stability and improved quality of life.

Treatment Option 3.

Complete Denture

If overall oral health is not strong or implant surgery is difficult, complete dentures can restore full chewing function.

At Yonsei Good Day Dental, dentures are made using digital impressions and suction techniques, tailored precisely to each patient’s oral condition. This ensures a comfortable fit, minimal pain, and quick adaptation.

We create dentures that fit naturally and comfortably, while our dental technicians carefully reproduce the color and shape of teeth and gums. This provides a lifelike appearance that looks as natural as possible.
